Last minute outfit ideas for Valentine’s day

Valentine's day1

I have been quite occupied the last two week, The photos were actually taken during the course of last week. Initial I wanted to do a not last minute valentine’s day post, unfortunately, I didn’t really have time to do that. So this post ended up to be very last minute. Anyway, many girls are going for the sassy vibe this special day,  but I decide to go sweet all the way.  After all, I don’t plan to go out this year, it’s -30 degrees, luck for you who live near the tropics! Here’s a few indoor outfit ideas for those of you who aren’e prepared yet. Although many items here are neither not available or out of stock, I figure the texture combination may give you an idea. Everybody has a little black dress and a white sweater. Sometimes it all comes down to the accessories, the combination of textures and colors can take what’s already in your wardrobe to the next level.

This combination of simple white sweater and textured faux fur scarf makes your look a little dressier but not trying to hard. Pair it with a simple trousers or jeans, maybe skirt too; Anything really!

Sweater from E-land(was a gift), Scarf from Aritzia, hat from Brandy Melville.

This outfit might not look too appealing on the picture, but when you wear it , it’s just… cute! Stars and bow together, what can be more girly than that?

I was wearing this outfit to IKEA, and when I passed by the mirror, I realized: “Hey, it doesn’t look so bad.” When I got home, it was just at the right time where sun sets; the best portrait timing. So, here we go, a few pictures of what I wore to IKEA. This Larry Levine wool coat is really one of my best purchase, I brought it a year back in New York and have been loving it since, it is just so versatile and beautiful. Maybe not that warm though, but worth the cold. Ripped boyfriend jeans from American Eagle and J.Crew sweater are easy to pull off. The contrast of the Aldo blue bag and the red coat instantly brighten up the dullness of the casual pairing. the fur scarf was from my mom, confession: it is real fur, which I do not encourage in anyway! All my other fur items are fake and no one could tell the difference, so much cheaper for the same amount of chic.

Ottawa4

Taking a break from the long busy week, me and a few friends went all the way to Ottawa for… you won’t believe this. Popeye fried chicken! Well, we just needed some fresh air. Anyway, the outfit was nothing out of the ordinary, casual and affordable involving a few of my most worn items this season. The combination of dark grey turtle neck sweater and faux-leather pants along with the pointy booties made my look a little secret agentish; so I wore the long sloppy Tommy Hifiger cardigan and my grey Zara wool coat to make it more fun. The blue little Aldo bag was very cheap, I got it on sale for 25$ and yet, it has been my most complimented item in the closet. The size and the color were just right. Although I did the most stupid thing that a fashion blogger could EVER do, which is forgetting my camera, the photos turned out okay. With a little help of the trusty Photoshop, hopefully, they won’t hurt your eyes.

From Runway to Highstreet: trends that you should look forward for spring.

spring 2016 rtw-1

Although the weather is still cold in most places, the spring 2016 ready to wear already came in style. Right off the runway, here’s a few trends that you should expect to see all around. Get it before all the girls in your neighborhood own it! After all, part of the fashion is about who gets it first.

1. EVERY shades of Green (especially Olive)
The two pastel Colours of the year seem to get very little attention, it’s no surprise that after few years of its peak, people finally understand that although pleasing to the eyes, pastels aren’t easy to pull off. From Military jackets to Elizabeth Taylor’s earrings, green is a much more versatile color. Not only its huge on the Runway, its becoming more and more popular around us.  Well, Parkas are coming back in trend again, olive jackets are seen everywhere. Have an item in mind? Get it in Green! Any shade!

2.Ivory and All WHITE

Real excitement for one of my favorite trend to be continuing this year.  Words aren’t enough for classic nude colours that go well with everything. Chic and timeless, definitely something you should try.

3. More subtle floral prints

Here it comes the never ending floral trend. But I think it will come in much subtler ways, such as small area prints or seamless embroidery that blend the freshness of spring into the weightless fabrics.

4. Unisex items

Well, you might say that many designers are bringing sexy back on the runway, but Is sexy ever out on the high street? I’m not talking about boxer jackets and combat boots, but wearing clothes that men would wear, not unisex items from American Apparel but real men’s wear like humongous blazer and navy argyle sweater. The trend was further accentuated in the per-fall adverts.

5. Vetement
If you are a regular fashion blogger stalker (I confess), you should probably see the brand somewhere at least. I’m not sure the brand went viral before shown by fashionistas or did they became a hit after everyone started wearing it. It is fair to say that the highly appreciated  brand is bringing the cool back (originally said by Sarah Mower on Vogue.com).

The problem with ready to wear or Pre-Fall is that the designer’s aesthetics may conflict with what might actually sell. It’s great that they always find the perfect combination of both. The show remained us once more, that fabrics can be managed in infinite ways to be sexy, strong, cool… Which gives everyone a fitted position in this awesome, sometimes scary but marvelous world of fashion.
